Introducing the New World of PlayStation

We're pleased to announce the launch of the new PlayStation.com, an enormous entertainment platform that beautifully tells the PlayStation brand story while simply communicating the complex offering of PlayStation products.

The overall look and feel is dramatic, bold and refreshing featuring a compact navigation that is friendly and informative, a huge promotional marquee to promote PlayStation offerings in a highly compelling and visually stunning way, and a powerful membership area to encourage user sign in and participation.

We're extremely proud of the tremendous effort put forth from the team here at Odopod and our partners. The site came together beautifully.

Check it out, we'd love to hear what you think.

A huge undertaking for a company that is probably extremely meticulous about its brand. I love the use of Flash as the BG and the way the navigational design and other elements stayed true to the console and its UI. There is a simplicity to it that lets the titles and the product stand on its own without being crammed into some confusing interface. Product centrality is huge especially for a gaming console that has venomous competitors. I didn't like the long scrolls and the over use of the red triangle call outs I thought they were a bit too uniform and repetitive and didn't really serve as a prominent call to action. The side nav is a bit buggy, it sometimes shifted on me a bit and I thought it was confusing to have both an expand and rollout for sub-nav, that confused me. Otherwise I think that its a great site very clean, i realize there is tons of content and unfortunately a lot of good content had to get lost in that scroll but I think gamers are more savvy web users anyway. Great job!

I can only imagine all the blood, sweat and tears that went into this project. The finish product is amazing and your team deserves an award for this. Looks like every pixel is strategically positioned in the right place and the flash transitions are amazingly smooth. What a beauty!

Amazing job. I love that the featurette banner is the focal point of the site, nearly full screen above the fold; and I love how the content section contrasts the top section with its clean, white look. I personally don't mind the long scrolling and feel that it's about a 50/50 split as far as people's preference on that. Intuitiveness is dependent on what we're used to, and with the Facebooks and other social media sites using long scrolling, it's becoming more and more acceptable. All in all, a beautiful display of a lot of information for Playstation. Great job Odopod. .....that rhymed

I like it. There is a thing I would like to see more: consistency. Can't blame you, but why is there the PSN Store, the XMB and now the playstation.com with totaly different looks? But as always nicely done! P. S. : If there is going to be an office of yours around Düsseldorf, Germany, contact me! ; )
