Barclays is known in Britain for its innovative, unconventional thinking. When they decided to bring their brand to the states, they sponsored a PGA event to reach the audience they really cared about — an elite group of bankers on Wall Street. Eleven, Barclays' design agency, brought us in to make sure the accompanying microsite would deliver on their brand promise of innovation.
Working closely with Eleven, we designed an interactive tour of the exclusive Westchester Golf Course that would give users a balls-eye view of each hole. During the tour, users glean insights and strategies from the pros. Odopod produced the tee-to-hole fly-through videos using a simple but compelling production technique called CopterVision. We then stitched all the elements — video, photography and audio—together in Flash for a seamless experience.
It was surreal watching the tiny high-tech helicopter fly-over the prestigious Westchester course.
