Ten Words for Oil Independence

Better Place is a Silicon Valley startup with big ambitions: to build an electric car infrastructure and end the planet's dependence on oil.

It’s a vision people can rally to. But first Better Place needed to get the word out. They asked Odopod to do just that.

Our solution was 10 Words. It’s a website where you create an animated badge you can use to share your reason for ending the planet’s addiction to oil.

The interaction is simple: enter your 10 word “mini-festo” and upload a picture.

Then, the magic bit happens: the site takes your 10 words and weaves them into a slickly-designed, playfully-animated badge, that feels a bit like a short video bumper.

The badge is then free to roam the web: you can put it on you blog, MySpace or anywhere you can embed html. And if someone sees it there and likes it, they can click to make their own, spreading virally.

It’s a tool for creating badges, but also a community, where you can see all the badges people have created -- a world of reasons for ending our addiction to oil.

It's an opportunity we don't see everyday: to help make the world better, and create great work in the process.
