CLIF Bar & Co was started by a guy in a garage who had a big idea to make a better tasting energy bar. The company has an ever expanding product line and a customer base that ranges from athletes to anyone looking for a tasty, healthy snack.
CLIF came to Odopod at a key moment in the evolution of their brand and product line. While the company had grown – both in people and in products – they were adamant about staying true to the authenticity and humility of CLIF’s original vision.
We responded by creating a site that reflects the homegrown roots of the company with each page custom crafted to best express the CLIF story. Not only does the site tell the company’s - and its employees’ - amazing stories, it’s also the primary vehicle for learning about events and organizations CLIF sponsors as part of their commitment to sustainability and protecting the places people live and play.
The site is built so that it’s easy to surface links to related content in the company blog where CLIF people share news from events, the kitchen and the many environmental, athletic and sustainable activities in which they participate.
A "Find and Compare" widget built in Flash helps customers make sense of the extensive product line and have fun finding the absolute right foods for their different needs.
And, to stay true to the company’s collaborative culture, we built a publishing system that allows almost anyone at the company to update almost all content at the site. The system includes a custom-built tool that allows CLIF to manage all of their registration forms: athlete and event sponsorships, marathon pace team sign-up and more.
The overall site experience captures the essence of what makes CLIF Bar & Company special: that we can care for our planet, each other, our health…and have a great time doing it.

It's been thirteen years since we started Odopod.
We've always wanted one thing: to do the best work of our lives. Along the way, we have been joined by an eclectic and exceptionally talented bunch of people who wanted the same thing. Together, we've built a company we love.
Two years ago, Odopod was acquired by Nurun.
The acquisition was a validation of everything we had built. It was also a catalyst for some big changes we wanted to make. We began to tackle bigger, thornier problems and to work all over the world. With Nurun, we've had a series of huge wins and have been producing our best work yet.
That's why we recently decided to retire the Odopod brand, formally adopt Nurun as our name, and take the reins of Nurun's US operations.
We're all still here—same team with the same appetite for great work, only now with different e-mail addresses and more frequent flyer miles. And we're growing, so send your talented friends our way.
Keep an eye out for new work from Nurun. It will be our best yet.
