New Ways to Say Hello

American Greetings – a company with a 100 year-old tradition of helping people express themselves – wanted to be relevant to today’s youth and the technology they use to communicate. They created a new sub-brand: Kiwee, with a mission to offer digital tools for self-expression in places like MySpace, Facebook, IM and mobile.

When they came to Odopod, Kiwee had a name and a logo but not much else. We went through a number of exercises to discover the Kiwee personality – arriving at a hand-crafted, organic aesthetic for the visual design, brought to life in playful animations and interactive behaviors.

With the brand personality firmly place, Odopod went into collaborative mode, building a set of detailed design guidelines, interactive prototypes and motion studies, which we handed off to American Greetings. This allowed them to completely own the final design and adapt it to their business needs in an incredibly flexible way.

The Discovery process with Kiwee was delightful. We were able to deeply engage with the client and develop a unique personality and vision for the brand.
